My research interests include the “politics of lifestyle” with reference to the dynamism of gendering welfare state. In Japan, since the enforcement of “The Basic Law for a Gender-Equal Society” in 1999, a heated argument over gender and lifestyles has intensified. Focusing on the “politics of lifestyle” and “The Basic Law for a Gender-Equal Society”, I would like to engage in the research of new relationship among family, work and welfare state.
